3 things you need to transform your sleep (and your life)

As you know, sleeping better will transform your life because being sleep deprived affects every part of your life: your work, your relationships, your mood and your health.


I went to Costa Rica when I was 25. I spent part of the time traveling on my own and a few days traveling with my boyfriend and his parents. I was a backpacker, no-plans, DIY traveler at the time so when I found out we were going on a guided, planned-to-the-minute tour to a national park with my boyfriend’s family, I thought it was going to be lame.


I had a great time on my own. I went to a surf camp and met some other travelers.


But the guided tour turned out to be the highlight. I learned about the plants and animals, the culture, and the struggles the country has had with protecting the environment. I got an insider’s view into and a deeper connection with the people and the country. It wasn’t lame at all. It was transformational.


Trying to DIY your sleep is the same thing as DIY traveling. You may make some progress on the surface. But it won’t transform your sleep. Or your health.

Taking a prescription because your doctor told you to is not taking an active role.
