3 things you need to transform your sleep (and your life)

As you know, sleeping better will transform your life because being sleep deprived affects every part of your life: your work, your relationships, your mood and your health.

I went to Costa Rica when I was 25. I spent part of the time traveling on my own and a few days traveling with my boyfriend and his parents. I was a backpacker, no-plans, DIY traveler at the time so when I found out we were going on a guided, planned-to-the-minute tour to a national park with my boyfriend’s family, I thought it was going to be lame.

I had a great time on my own. I went to a surf camp and met some other travelers.

But the guided tour turned out to be the highlight. I learned about the plants and animals, the culture, and the struggles the country has had with protecting the environment. I got an insider’s view into and a deeper connection with the people and the country. It wasn’t lame at all. It was transformational.

Trying to DIY your sleep is the same thing as DIY traveling. You may make some progress on the surface. But it won’t transform your sleep. Or your health.

Working with most functional medicine doctors or naturopaths will be similar. It’s a step up from DIY but it’s transactional, not transformational. You’ll be sitting in the waiting room ready to pay for an hour of their time. You have no idea how much money you’ll spend, how much time it will take, how many appointments you’ll need, or if they can even help you. They’ll tell you what supplements to take and what diet changes to make. But they won’t help you make those changes or explain your test results and why those changes are important. You'll go through a process but with no intention of a specific outcome. They help everyone with everything; they don’t specialize in sleep.

1.If you’re going to transform your sleep, you need to transform your health.

We as humans are meant to sleep well. So if you can’t sleep, it’s a sign that there are underlying health issues that are keeping you awake.

The most common causes of insomnia that I see with my clients are:

You have to address all of the imbalances that are affecting your sleep to get better. You can’t look at one thing at a time because everything in the body is connected.

Almost half of my clients have already worked with another functional/alternative practitioner before working with me. They haven’t gotten much better (and some have even gotten worse). What’s usually missing is someone looking at the big picture of what’s going on in the body. You can’t focus only on gut health and not support the liver, hormones, nutrient deficiencies, toxins, etc.

2. It's important that you take an active role in your health.

Taking a prescription because your doctor told you to is not taking an active role.

You will need to make small changes on a daily basis that will add up to big results over time.

When you understand what’s going on in your body, when you see it on paper in the test results, you’ll be more motivated to change.

You can’t transform your health just by taking supplements. Diet and lifestyle play a critical role in your health, too.

3. You need a guide if you want better health (and sleep) in the long-term.

A guide to Costa Rica will tell you what to pack, what the weather will be like, what the itinerary is, and what to expect on the trip.

It’s the same with having a guide for your health. She’ll tell you what changes will make the biggest difference for you, how long and in what order you should make those changes, and what progress to expect on the journey.

Society doesn’t make it easy to be healthy. Common habits that most people have are not healthy. We have to actually learn how to be healthy in the modern world.

You want a guide who knows you as a person, to understand your life, so that they can help you figure out what’s going to work for you long-term.

A guide also offers support when you have questions, accountability for change and encouragement when things feel hard.

The Complete Sleep Solution offers all of these things. By taking an active role, you will transform your health with the guidance and support of a coach so that your sleep improves permanently.

The Complete Sleep Solution will transform your health and your sleep. We’ll tell you what your test results show, give you recommendations and talk about what’s going to work best for you.

It’s customized and includes the support you need to truly get healthy so you can sleep normally.

It’s not transactional.

It’s transformational.

You’ll know exactly what to expect, how long it will take, how much you’ll spend, and that it will work. The focus is on improving your sleep in 6 months or less.

Not only will you sleep better.

You’ll also transform your health and your family’s health.

You’ll increase your income-earning potential.

You’ll be in a better mood every day.

You’ll spend less money on things that are band aids or that make your health worse.

You’ll become a better person and be better able to achieve your goals.

Book a consultation to talk about your sleep and how the program works so you can transform your health and your sleep forever!
