“Before working with you, I was constantly waking up through the night and often could not go back to sleep. I was excited to get some help.

I have learned that I (and most of my family) are gluten intolerant, (that was hard to take at first but has been a real help in my diet), I learned some mental tricks about sleep that help me, like not dwelling on how much sleep I got last night and talking about it. I learned some behavioral problems I was doing such as phone time before bed, and over stimulating my brain before bed.  I also had a gut parasite and imbalance that once was fixed I now feel much better as far as general health.

“Before working together, I was getting somewhere between 2-3 hours of sleep most nights, unless I took a sleeping pill. However, when taking a sleeping pill I'd experience significant negative side effects. I was quite literally exhausted all the time and very frustrated. I had tried two other programs (one - a diet, exercise program that promised to help my sleep but had little impact, another - a cognitive behavioral therapy program that had some good ideas, but wasn't the high level of support and coaching I really needed). I had already spent quite a bit of money on the other programs with little positive impact. I was hoping that a different approach that included actual testing would work. In the last two months, I've slept better than I have in the past year. While there is an occasional "bad' night, even the bad nights aren't that bad (still get 4-5 hours of sleep). I've enjoyed all aspects of the program (the testing, the videos, the content). But I think the coaching part was most important for me. Tina was great. I really needed to work with someone who was specifically helping me improve my sleep. I had previously worked with a counselor, but that person had little expertise and understanding about people with sleep issues. (That person kept trying to find some "hidden" anxiety for why I wasn't sleeping well. I kept explaining that my anxiety is that I'm not sleeping well - not other things.) Tina understood this and worked specifically on how to help me sleep better. For me the biggest issue was diet (she diagnosed this quickly through the food log). Changing my diet began changing my ability to sleep better. The next big hurdle was getting me off the sleep medication. She was patient and encouraging and having her as an accountability partner really helped me trust that I would be able to sleep without the pills. Once I got off the pills everything improved for the better. Her encouragement was crucial in all this. The program really helped me. I feel I now have strategies so that even if I have some bad nights in the future, I can go back to all the positive changes I've made and trust that if I do the right things, good sleep will happen for me.
